13th Annual Sunset Homes Annual Fun Day A Grand Success!

September 7, 2015 By admin Leave a Comment

Unprecedented numbers of children participated in a day of fun and community camaraderie on Saturday August 29th 2015. Sunset Homes, a Property Development firm in Anguilla was proud to declare its thirteenth anniversary of sponsorship and coordination of this annual event on its office grounds located in Stoney Ground for the families of the neighbouring villages.

The event’s concept centred around a Fun Fair operated by Sunset Homes and partnering community and corporate organisations, where there were several booths filled with games, contests, lucky dips, hoola hooping, educational games, cupcake decorating, art and craft, face painting and food and beverages. The eagerly anticipated the Tug-o-War culminated the proceedings where old and young joined in to jostle and pull with all their might, for the grand prize of bragging rights. All refreshments, prizes and games were provided complimentary to the children.

This event comes out of an active cooperation within the community, reminiscent of traditional communal activities, where villagers come together to work on select projects. Members of the community in the area help prepare for this event. The event aims to encourage community spirit and to provide a stimulating, productive activity for the children where they can win educational prizes.

Over 150 children and their families were present and all children attendance received school and sports supplies ranging from back packs, scientific calculators, geometry sets, exercise books, stationery, footballs, educational classes tuition, paddle boarding certificates, games and more.

Appreciation goes out to all the persons who gave so generously of their time and resources including: Chief Coordinator Charlene Roach, Community Liaisons Joan Johnson, Alfred “Allie” Douglas and Alma Gumbs and the Sunset Homes staff and friends and family.
