Azu: the St Barts Renovation
Villa on St BarthWe have purchased a villa on St Barth which we plan to rent as a holiday villa and also upgrade somewhat. Closing is on June 16, 2004 and renovation starts immediately. We hope to have the first phase done by October 15, 2004.
St Barth is only a 12 minute flight from Anguilla, but is completely different. For those who know St Barth, this villa is located on the hillside above the east end of St Jean village, looking right down on Eden Rock. Click the link above to see the villa web page.

How to Start a Renovation Project?
If you are the Green's, the first step is to install high-speed internet service. So you can keep in touch! At our Azu Villa in St Barts, this went reasonably well. It worked the first time. But the installation software was only in French.
Second step was to tear out the old tile in the kitchen. Here are the original tile counter tops:
And here is what the kitchen looked like after the tiles on the counter top and walls were removed:
And we ripped out the cabinet next to the stove, so that we would have room for a larger new stove:
Another early step is to select the colors for repainting. Notice the aqua paint samples in the picture above.
Replastering and Removing Rocks, Inter-Island Freight
Taking a Break for Lunch, Solar Power
First paying guests arrived on November 21, 2004.
