Debby Has Passed. Debby is now a minimal hurricane. It seemed to pass early this morning and we have had on and off rain storms all day since.
Debby. The island is batterning down for a visit from a tropical storm tonight. Predictions for Debby are somewhat iffy at this time because the storm does not have a clear eye. The National Hurricane Center issues updates at 5am, 8am, 11am, 2pm, 5pm, 8pm and 11pm, with every other update include full discussion and revised projections and probabilities. The Island Harbour Community is invited to join the Anguilla National Trust and the Government of Anguilla to jointly develop and manage the Big Spring National Park site for the coming tourist season. All the resorts/hotels/inns.Arawak Beach Inn. This 17-unit facility in Island Harbour continues to upgrade itself. The restaurant is now open, serving local and tourist favorites (including pizza and spagetti). The octagonal buildings have all been painted pastel colors and it looks quite cute now. Tasty's Cafe. Good things have been happening at Tasty's Cafe in South Hill. Chef and owner Dale Carty has quit his night job at Malliouhana's restaurant and is now serving dinner at Tasty's, as well as continuing breakfast and lunch service. And he has remodelled his building, making the dining area more open and attractive. Prices are still very reasonable and the food is great. And you can call to order take-out too.
Miss Anguilla 2000. Hyacinth Snaggs won this year's competition. And, for the first time in many years, the winner was not sponsored by National Bank of Anguilla.
