If you are looking for some Northern Italian pasta for dinner,
2001 News: Closed! Sad news: Luciano's restaurant is closed.
then consider Luciano in Long Bay village (about a block east of Malliouhana Hotel).
Your hosts Luciano Romani (an Italian from the Italian Riviera) and his wife Sophie Jaquin (French, from Paris) will make you welcome, as evidence this recent email message below:

We went to Shoal Bay - a little too busy for
us but very pretty. We went
there from Billy's
where we had a good (and very cheap) breakfast. Whilst
at Billy's we met a young lady called Desiree who braids hair at Shoal
Bay. We gave her a lift to Shoal Bay - she should give up hair braiding and
become a singer - very talented.
You should try Luciano's. My friend had the pesto pasta, which was very
good indeed and I had the mushroom pasta (the mushrooms were wonderful -
very French). The tricolore salad is the best on the island (that we could
find). However, if you are not a big fan of tiramisu (I am not) then pass
on the desserts and head straight for the cappuccino.
If you do go there say hello to the Italian owner for us - he should
remember two London people who came several times and promised to look up
his good friend, the owner of the best Italian restaurant in London,
Zafferano's.

Telephone: 1-264-497-6700 for reservations. They only accept American Express. Open for lunch. Closed Fridays, also closes for September and October.
Directions: If you are staying in the West End, Luciano is just up the road from Malliouhana Hotel. Starting from the airport parking lot, take the only exit and turn left, then left again to drive past the airport going west. Go through the airport roundabout and follow the main road, going straight through the other roundabout at Sandy Ground. After the South Hill Plaza on the left, watch for a paved right turn to Long Bay Village (which may or may not have a traffic light). Drive through the village and watch for Luciano on the right, just before Meads Bay and the Malliouhana Hotel.
