CARIBBEAN TENNIS PROFESSIONALS (CTP) HIRES SHAWN ROMNEY TO HEAD UP CAP JULUCA'S TENNIS PROGRAM

     The Valley, Anguilla (May 2001) -- Caribbean Tennis Professionals Ltd (CTP) has hired Anguilla born, Shawn Romney to head up the Tennis Program at Cap Juluca Hotel, Anguilla. Shawn has recently graduated with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Sports Management from Gardner-Webb University, North Carolina.
     Richard Ferdinand, CTP's Founder and Chairman, praises Shawn, saying 'Shawn would be adding some stability and continuity to the program and is confident that he would take the program to the next level".
     Shawn is no stranger to Cap Juluca Hotel; he began his career at Cap Juluca Hotel, which opened doors to many other opportunities. As a former Anguillian champion, he represented Anguilla in numerous national and international events. Shawn�s ability to manage and direct derives from assignments in Puerto Rico (Hyatt Dorado); Thailand (Bangkok Tennis Academy); Anguilla (Cap Juluca Resort, Malliouhauna), and United States; Florida (Nick Bollettieri); North Carolina (GWU assistant tennis coach)
     Richard Ferdinand and Val Banks founded Caribbean Tennis Professionals, Ltd. (CTP), an Anguilla Corporation, in 1997. Its mission is to enhance the services to clients at resorts, hotel and clubs through consultation, management and/or the provision of highly trained, skilled quality tennis professionals. With a staff of over 20 professionals, the company has been successful in fulfilling that mission, at the Caribbean �Top 5� luxurious hotels, Cap Juluca Hotel; Anguilla and CuisinArt Resort & Spa, Anguilla; World Renowned Golf and Tennis Resort, The Tryall Club, Jamaica and Silent Waters, Jamaica, the newest and most remarkable private home in Jamaica. CTP is a member of the Caribbean Hotel Association (CHA) & Anguilla Hotel and Tourism Association (AHTA).
     Services provided by CTP range from Facility Design Consulting and Construction; Management of Tennis Facilities; Pro Shop Consulting; and Specialty Events/Tournament Direction. CTP is very involved within the community; conducting disability programs, like wheelchair tennis; grass-root development programs for schools and local adult leagues and tournaments.
     Ferdinand is a member of number of reputable organizations like; United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA); United States Professional Tennis Registry (USPTR); United States Racquet Stringers Association (USRSA), Cornell Hotel Society (CHS) and board member on the International Council of the International Tennis Hall of Fame. He also serves on the board of different Caribbean tennis committees. For 6 years he worked for Peter Burwash International (PBI) tennis management firm.
     Ferdinand understanding of the different management styles and needs stems from assignments at facilities in Jamaica (The Tryall Club); Anguilla (Cap Juluca Resort, Cuisinart Resort and Spa; Malliouhana Hotel; Coccoloba Resort); Virgin Gorda, BVI (Little Dix Bay Resort); Malaysia (Kelab Darul Ehsan); United States - Texas (The Woodlands Executive Conference Center, Resort and Country Club); Wisconsin (Sports Core); California (Marriott�s Desert Springs) and Hawaii (Royal Lahaina Resort, Maui; Turtle Bay Hilton, Oahu; Coco Palms Resort, Kauai).
     Banks is no stranger to Sports Management/Administration; he is presently the President of the Anguilla Tennis Association, President of the Leeward Islands Cricket Association, and Board Member; West Indies Cricket Board. He is an active tennis player, and oversees the Company�s Anguilla operations. Banks is a banker by profession, and the General Manager of National Bank of Anguilla.
