Check out the newest restaurant on Shoal Bay East, right on the beach next to one of the few coconut groves on the island. The cheerful, multi-coloured beach hut features delicious Continental and Caribbean breakfast and lunch. The ambience is friendly and informal. From time to time Mac the Chef comes out of the kitchen to greet guests and check on his sizzling outdoor grill.
Local owners Gwen and Tap have had a lot of experience in the restaurant and entertainment business on the island. Gwen is famous on Shoal Bay for her cole slaw recipe.
The Reggae Grill opens every day in the season. Monday -
Saturday 8am - 5pm and Sundays 8am - 7pm. Sunday afternoons bubble with
live reggae music from 1:30pm - 7:00pm. Tel. 264-497-2120.
Directions: located on the grounds of the
Allamanda Beach Club.
Starting from the airport parking lot, take the only exit and
turn left, then go straight past Island Car Rentals, National Bank
and straight through the intersection at Alberts Supermarket.
Continue on this road through Stoney Ground and Little Dix,
turning left on a paved road for Shoal Bay.
Continue this road until you go over the hill and come down
toward the beach. At the bottom of the hill there is a
right turn onto a gravel road that goes to Allamanda
and Serenity (there should be signs). Follow this a short distance
and turn in at the entrance to Allamanda, keeping left on
the driveway and ending up out at the beach. You can park just behind
the Reggae Grill, which is next to the dive shop.
