[Click to enlarge] It was a delight to discover the unique gift and souvenir ideas at Bartlett's Collection on Back Street, South Hill. Just imagining the thought and care that had gone into hand-picking the products from across the globe and the creativity in presenting them for gift-giving is inspiring. Calvin & Lynne Bartlett have put their hearts and souls into putting this collection together.

Calvin & Lynne: "We met by fate both with the same ideas, we combined our energy and created Bartlett's Anguilla. Our intense efforts and research resulted into some thing unique for Anguilla. Our objective is to form a network of talented artists, locally and world-wide, who would capture scenic views of Anguilla, whilst offering the service to customize works of art based upon customer request. Our special theme is the Marine Life of Anguilla."

Bartlett's Collection includes the exclusive and specially designed Bartlett's pottery by Vanessa Bartlett and Brigitte Bouquette, original paintings from various artists, engraved crystal pieces from Yugoslavia, Spanish Galleon Medallion jewelry, snorkeling gear, wrap sets, hand blown glass ornaments, hand-painted pottery, Guavaberry Prime Liqueurs & Spices Gift sets and Guavaberry designer bottles ( a rare find!). Bartlett's will soon launch their "free tasting" on special days for guests who would like to sample before they buy. Also special recipes for making exotic coladas will be added to the gift package.

There are also some very unique finds: One is the sun-colouring T-shirt (see picture below) - the design on these shirts magically turns from black and white to multi-coloured when exposed to the sunlight - perfect for a good laugh among unsuspecting companions! Another great item for elegant wear on the beach is a wrap set which includes a wrap skirt, a hair scrunchie and a matching bag for US$30. Another neat idea is a tropical fabric book cover/carry case for paperback books. There are also some hand-painted Anguilla Christmas ornaments. Not to forget the palette, you can try the Guavaberry grilling sauce made of papaya juices, brown sugar and other tempting ingredients.

The Bartlett family has had some successful creative business concepts. Vanessa, Calvin's daughter, created Bartlett's The Netherlands, specializing in home furnishings. Vanessa was recently voted as "Starting Entrepreneur of the Year" in Utrecht, a major city in the Netherlands. She is the youngest Entrepreneur to ever win this prize and has been invited to meet His Royal Highness Prince Willem Alexander and his Fianc Maxima.

When you visit Bartlett's Collection, be sure to look up Sera, the Bartlett's adopted rescued dog from the AARF.
